| PETROLEUM TRADING |
Marketing petroleum products is complex and requires detailed current knowledge of petroleum products sources and end markets. Also, requires a number of factors, including; 1) grades of petroleum products, 2) individual demand for specific petroleum products, 3) area market and price structures for each product, 4) locations of customers, 5) availability of transportation facilities, and 6) timing ("timing is everything"… as the saying goes).
In addition to these factors are the costs related to delivery and storing petroleum products at major integrated marketing companies and independent marketers via various types of sale and lifting agreements for terms ranging from one month to one year. We understand these markets and apply our extensive knowledge in structuring our sale offers/contracts so that the petroleum products price fluctuations do not materially affect your bottom-line while optimizing your energy consumption. Through our qualified team, we maintain ongoing relationships with all the major petroleum product marketers in addition to a number of independent importers.
Our trading activities involve the purchase of petroleum products for resale and require significant extensions of credit to our clients. To assure our ability to meet our obligations under our sales agreements, various credit arrangements can be negotiated with our Bankers. These credit arrangements include open lines of credit and standby letters of credit. As we market petroleum products, we must determine the amount, if any, of the line of credit to be extended to any given customer. These high quality field services include: 1) efficient data gathering capabilities; 2) available transportation; 3) timely pickup at depots and delivery to destination; 4) accurate measurement of volumes received; 5) and spill accounting and other administrative services such as providing statements of petroleum products purchased. |
